My name is Claire Wise and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and previous Infant Feeding Specialist Nurse based in Leicestershire.
I qualified as a Paediatric Nurse in 2003 and from 2014 onwards I worked closely in a hospital setting with families whose infants had to be re-admitted following birth for reasons relating to breast feeding difficulties in their early weeks of life.
It is the passion I have for supporting and working with breastfeeding women and their families that ultimately paved the way to me leaving the NHS in 2023 to pursue my IBCLC training which resulted in me receiving my qualification in the summer of 2024.
What is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)?
I am based in Hinckley and I typically cover Leicestershire, Warwickshire and Coventry but I can also travel to neighbouring counties if needed. There will be no extra travel costs within a 15 mile radius, but for visits carried out beyond that distance there will be an additional cost of 30p per extra mile.
I am available for breastfeeding support seven days a week and I can also provide evening and weekend appointments if needed.

I am a fully insured practitioner with an up to date DBS certificate (2024). I am also up to date with my GDPR (Data Protection) training, First Aid training and Safeguarding training.
